👍 Design Systems Enablement

A design system is your team's framework to build your product. Just how the Lego company empowers the world's creators to easily design and build any beautiful model, your product needs an optimal system to create an effective experience fast with scalability. Design System has been one of my primary expertise throughout my career and I've helped businesses build and maintain them using the latest tools.

👍 Cross-team Optimization for Design

You may have excellent teams of designers, engineers, and product managers in place, but do they understand each other's priorities? From my experience, the most overlooked aspect of a product org to function effectively is the bridging between these teams. Because each team has its own culture, goals, and priorities, the friction between them reduces the overall potential. To bridge the gaps, I've studied software engineering and product management fundamentals to help see from our partners' eyes to maximize the team output.

👍 Value-based Design & Fact-based Analysis

Your product is on top of the trend and may have a contemporary consumer app look. But let's not get mixed up between visual design and user experience. If you look at Maslow's hierarchy of needs in the realm of design, the product aesthetics and delightfulness are categorized in the "Creativity", the top layer of the pyramid.

What's commonly neglected is that the top layer does not sustain itself without the bottom layers. A product must solidify the bottom first and move upwards. In other words, the definition of effective design evolves over time as the product grows, and design must be aware of the current goals & values in order to design it right. In order to evaluate your current product positioning properly in the pyramid, the product and features must be evaluated based on facts, like user engagements, user-testings. Collecting unbiased facts, ongoing user-testing, and engagement monitoring become necessary... I know it seems like a lot of investment. The good news is, many effective design patterns that ground the bottom three layers are quite established and can be applied for rapid effectiveness if done through designers with the right experience and knowledge base. I want to understand your business values and immediate objectives so I can convert them into the right design goals. I've built many prototypes to test with users to collect unbiased first-hand feedback, and have a library of best design practices I collected through my experience. My goal is to help you step up the pyramid from where you are.
